So I wake up this morning with a legendary cold. I have a super high fever, can barely breath and overall I just feel horrible.
If I had a 9-5 job I would certainly be taking a sick day. I am an online marketer though, so instead I am in front of the computer typing this!
I guess in general, that is a benefit of working online. I am not at the whim of sick days etc… The bad news is I don’t have those sick days to help offset the cost of being sick.
So what do we do?
Well I have decided to wake up early and handle all of my email and other daily duties as quick as possible. One of the benefits of affiliate marketing is a lot of it can run on it’s own. I already have a number of money sites up, so they can keep on earning money – while I earn a nice rest in my bed!
Another benefit is that I can choose when to do some work. If I miss a day at a 9-5 job, I typically miss that whole day. Today, I woke up early, got some work in, will go back to bed to rest up shortly. At any time after that I can get up and casually check the computer and do some work. If I feel too sick to continue I can stop. This is what is great about working online. Complete flexibility.
I hate to be sick, I am a huge baby when I am, but at least I don’t have the added stress of counting sick days. I can work, rest and recover at my own pace.
